What is networking in the corporate world?

I see networking in corporate world as a two prong engagement. One is functional networking for functional excellence. For each function there is an internal ecosystem and an external one. When you network you become better in both with ideas, solutions, agencies, systems, and ofcourse more appropriate recruits.

Two is personal – when you network you find yourself and reach to more appropriate postings. You get to know yourself and your opportunities. You get assessed there.

Of course there is a lot joy anyways.
